Whose ambitions are not confined to their own selfish desires; Who will not say they do things “because everybody does it.” Who are true to their friends in adversity as well as in prosperity; Who are not afraid to stand for the truth when it is unpopular, who can say “no” with emphasis, although the rest of the world says “yes.” Who are pure in thought and motive and faithful and true to their marriage vows! The world needs MEN:

Titus 2:11-14 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, 12 instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly (Holy) in this present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, 14 who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds. Here is the Challenge!

  6. Need for Moral Integrity • Must have HOLY HEARTS • Blessed are . . pure in heart • Heb 10:22 -- “pure hearts, full faith, clear conscience.” • Rm 12:9 “Abhor evil..cling..good” • Prov. 4:23 “Keep your heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life!”

Must have HOLY HANDS I Tim 2:8 “Lift up holy hands..” Rom 6:12-17 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts, 13 and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin (any part) as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace. 16 Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness? Need for Moral Integrity • Must have HOLY HEADS (Thoughts!) • Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Rm 12:1-2

Mental Transformation • The Battle is in the mind! • All deal with sexual images –you do not have to dwell on these thoughts! • 2 Cor 10:5 “We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing (stronghold) raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.” • How do that? • Eliminate “Gateway images; triggers.”

  10. We need HOLY EYES! Job 31:1"I have made a covenant with my eyes ;that I should not look upon a young woman. 6 Let me be weighed on honest scales, That God may know my integrity. 9 "If my heart has been enticed by a woman, Or if I have lurked at my neighbor's door, that would be wickedness; Yes, it would be iniquity deserving of judgment. 12 For that would be a fire that consumes to destruction!   11. Sexual activity of men (church goers). 33% are virgins… 35% had four or more previous partners 23% have had a sex in last six months 50% had viewed pornography. Attitude: I love to sin, God loves to forgive! God’s attitude: Rm 6:1 Gallup Poll: Three things “Christian men” found “morally acceptable:” Homosexuality, Co-habitation, pornography Single Adult Ministry Journal

Need Guidelines! • Who invented sex? • Similar to FIRE : • Can do great good in its place • Get out of the hearth--DANGER! • Must respect it and not play high risk games… • Lust is destructive when: • Out of bounds… (other than spouse) • Out of balance… (keeps us from being the person we ought to be)

  13. He is able to deliver! Three Components: Confession Accountability Mental Transformation Confession = “Saying what God says . . .” I John 1:9 “If we confess our sins . . .” Challenge you to grab Ps 51:10 and make it your own. “Create in me a pure heart . .” If you have fallen… 3

  14. Take Heart . . . • II Cor 5:17 “If anyone is in Christ, He is a new creature.” • As brothers we need to be open with each other (Jas 5:16). Find strength! • Women do, what about us?

  15. 10 Guidelines • BE ACCOUNTABLE • James 5:16 “Confess your faults ...” • John Maxwell - 5 questions: • Spending time with God? • Are your thoughts Pure? • Are you abusing the Trust? • Are you walking in Obedience? • Have you been totally truthful about your answers to #1-4?

  16. Accountability is critical. Porn is a “private sin” so the temptation is greatest when you are alone. Sharing your struggles with a supportive friend can break the chains! (Select someone trustworthy) Exposing Satan’s lies to the light will pave the way to recovery. Knowing someone will “check on you” will help a lot! If you have fallen . . .

  17. BE ATTENTIVE TO YOUR WIFE! Listen to her! I Peter 3:7 “Dwell…acc. to knowledge.” Prov. 19:14 “House and wealth are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the LORD.” Love Her! Ecc 9:9 “Enjoy life with the woman whom you love all the days of your fleeting life which He has given to you under the sun; for this is your reward in life.” 10 Guidelines

  18. “Drink water from your own cistern And fresh water from your own well. Let them be yours alone. Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice in the wife of your youth. As a loving hind and a graceful doe, Let her breasts satisfy you at all times; Be exhilarated always with her love.” Why? Prov 5:15-19

  19. 10 Guidelines • BE ON GUARD • Book: “Fallen Men of God.” • Neglected devotional life • Accountable to no one • Never thought it would happen • Scary.. I Cor 10:12 • Lesson of David: Don’t be over confident.

  21. DETERMINE TO LIVE A PURE LIFE THROUGH MENTAL TRANSFORMATION. Rom 12:1-2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Forget feelings…take Action, it always precedes Attitude. James 4:7 Resist the devil.. Guidelines . . .

  22. Now flee from youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love [and] peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. Phil 4:8 “Whatsoever is . . . Dwell on . .” Replace selfish, lustful thoughts of women with a Godly view of them! I Cor 13:4-7 - Higher view that transcends lust! II Tim 2:22

  23. It’s better to light one candle than to stand back and curse the darkness. • Turn on the light - invest in relationships! • God can erase the images of your past and recast you in His image!

  24. REALIZE SEXUAL SINS ASSAULT THE LORDSHIP OF JESUS I Cor 6:13-15 Don’t blaspheme God! RECOGNIZE THE CONSEQUENCES OF SIN Prov 6:32 - Adulterer is ..Fool Prov 6:26 - Adultery will cost a man all that he has! 10 Guidelines

  26. 10 Guidelines • THINK ABOUT YOUR CHILDREN! • My father left a legacy for me to follow and pass on… • Sexual sins often are passed on: David (Bathsheba) - consider Solomon… • Your faithfulness is no guarantee--but it will give them strength. • Be determined not to be a stumbling block! • Keep a family picture with you and look at it when tempted!
