  1. calibration practices for maintaining flow meter in Singapore

  2. Calibration is an extremely significant step in maintenance because, it essentially identifies if there really is a need for repairs and if yes, what will be the scale of the repairs. • Therefore exercising caution is necessary while undertaking the calibration process. There are certain practices which can help to ensure successful and error-free calibration process. Here’s a list of those practices

  3. Accuracy of standards • For calibration to be correct, the first step is to choose good reference standard. The standard measurements should be derived from meters that are of the same category as that of the meter under test. • The standard measurements should have minimum possible uncertainty and uncertainty should be clearly specified.

  4. Standards should be traceable to recognized standards • Standards which are assumed in a calibration process should be comparable to the standards prescribed by recognized bodies. Standards laid by recognized bodies are deemed accurate by all in the industry. • If those standards are used for reference the calibration process will be more fruitful.

  5. Rate of flow of actual meter and standard should be steady • The flow rate of the meter under test should not vary with time. • The meter’s flow is calibrated with the standard measurement of real time, variation of the rate of flow in different times will lead to wrong calibration results.

  6. There should not be any differences in external factors of meter under calibration and standard • No external factors in the Calibration Laboratory Singapore process like pipe structure, temperature etc. should be different from the standard meter. • These external factors result into changes in measurement. For calibration results to be accurate it important that external factors of measurement of the actual meter and standard should be the same

  7. calibration should be same for the meter under calibration and the standard • The content i.e. the liquid or gas can have the different temperature, viscosity, density etc. These properties of the content can have an impact on the measurement. For calibration process to give correct results the content used in actual meter and the standard should be more or less the same. • Once the Calibration Services is done correctly, the repair functions are set in motion. Proper calibration is the backbone of maintenance and operational efficiency over time. These 5 things can help to get the calibration process right and ensure smooth functioning of flow meters.
