  2. Brain Tumor??? Brain Tumor???  A brain tumor is a lump in the brain which is caused when brain cells divide and grow in an uncontrolled way, what causes brain cells to start growing and dividing differently from healthy cells, forming a “high grade” (Cancerous) or “Low grade”(Benign) tumor is not yet understood.  Brain tumors can occur at any age.  Grades of Brain tumor has classified by doctors as Grade I, Grade II, Grade III, (Grade-IV- the most severe).  The Grade is determined by the way cells look under a microscope.  The higher the grade number, The more abnormal the cells appear, the more aggressively the tumor usually behaves.

Types of Brain Tumor : Types of Brain Tumor :  Primary Brain Tumor Primary Brain Tumor :  A brain Tumor originating in the brain is known as a primary brain Tumor.  Secondary Brain Tumor Secondary Brain Tumor :  If the Tumor started somewhere else in the body e.g. the lung, then spread to the brain, it is known as a secondary brain Tumor or 'metastases‘.

How Brain tumor will be Diagnosed: How Brain tumor will be Diagnosed:  If your doctor suspects you have a Brain Tumor, they will refer you to a specialist, Such as Neurologist.  They are specialist in Brain and Nerve disorders.  If they suspect a child has a Brain Tumor, they will refer them to a Pediatrician. The Specialist will ask :  Question about your Health  Gives you Physical examination to test your nervous system (Neurological Exam.) (This test involves looking at your vision, hearing, alertness, muscle strength, co-ordination and reflexes )  You will have one or more further tests, such as an MRI Scan to establish whether the Tumor is Present or No t.

Role of MRI Scan : Role of MRI Scan :  Evaluation for Brain, MRI scan is considered as Sensitive, Although not more specific , but it is important to for recognizing the issues.  The advantages of MRI center around its ability to reveal abnormalities that may not be detectable or only poorly seen on CT.  MRI with its increased contrast discrimination and its ability to obtain images in many planes can better define the precise location of a lesion relative to key neuroanatomic structures.  This is extremely important for optimal surgical and radiotherapy planning.
