How it Works The Bi-Wave laser device uses a diode to emit infrared laser beams in either continuous or pulsed phases. The beams are carried via a fiber optic cable to the treatment wand. With the wand held over the skin,infrared light penetrates the tissue. The light energy is converted to chemicalenergy within cells, causing biochemical changes to occur that stimulate wound repair and cell proliferation, while bringing pain relief to the horse. The two different wavelengths enable the beam to penetrate soft tissue to different depths, with the beams also having different widths.
