  1. 8 Tips For A Dust-Free Home

  2. Dust is unsightly, bad for our health and a general annoyance in most homes, but there are steps you can take to help reduce the levels of dust, even if you can never eliminate it entirely, and here’s how: Use the right tools for the job: Feather dusters are one of the worst types of tools you can use to try and combat dust, and they inevitably make it worse by simply spreading the particles all around the room. Instead, always use a microfiber cloth, or wherever possible, vacuum up the dust.

  3. Don’t ‘dry’ dust: Every time you wipe something with a dry duster or cloth, you risk making the dust fly around and simply settle on another surface. Instead, spray a little cleaning solution onto your cloth and you’ll pick up the dust rather than transfer it elsewhere. Don’t over moisten the cloth though, or you’ll have wet smears over everything. Change your vacuum filters regularly: Your vacuum cleaner will soon get smelly and become clogged up, especially if you use it often;

  4. vacuuming requires some effort, so why waste your effort by using a vacuum cleaner that isn’t doing it’s job effectively because the filter is bunged up?Ensure that you regularly change the filter to help you avoid wasting your time cleaning and to make sure that your home is cleaned properly. Don’t neglect to clean your cleaning tools: It’s inevitable that the tools you use to clean your home, will themselves become grubby during use, so keep them clean to help avoid spreading dust and dirt around, undoing all your hard work.

  5. If you can, avoid rugs and carpets: Rugs and carpets are prime targets for dust and so if you have a real problem with dust in your home (and especially if you have allergies to dust or which are exacerbated by it), then you should try to avoid them at all costs. If you must have them, then be sure to vacuum them regularly. Avoid drapes wherever possible, too: Just as with rugs and carpets, drapes are veritable breeding grounds for dust and should be avoided wherever possible if you want a dust-free home. However, if you do have them, try to clean them as frequently as possible, or vacuum them on alternative days to prevent the dust from building up on them.

  6. Cover your bed: Dust will always be there in our beds, whether we like it or not, since dust is often made up of particles of skin from our body’s, but you can help reduce the dust by covering your bed and pillows during the day. Close your windows: We all like to have fresh air in our homes, but the truth is that this only allows in more dust, dirt and grime from outside, and can make the job of dusting an even harder one. If you must open your windows, do so for a limited period, or be prepared to dust until eternity!
