Bike Racks

When I’m driving during a nice summer day where the temperature is nice and not over bearing I see people riding their bikes for fun. I then wonder how they transport their bike from point A to point B when the destination is across town, or even further if they are going on vacation. I ended up doing some research and I found out that there are a number of different kinds of bike racks that allow drivers to safely transport their bike from point A to point B.

  1. When I’m driving during a nice summer day where the temperature is nice and not over bearing I see people riding their bikes for fun.

  2. I then wonder how they transport their bike from point A to point B when the destination is across town, or even further if they are going on vacation.

  3. I ended up doing some research and I found out that there are a number of different kinds of bike racks that allow drivers to safely transport their bike from point A to point B.

  4. One of the first things that people should know is how to properly secure their bike.

  5. Drivers needing to secure their bike may purchase or use a public bike parking rack.

  6. This rack is simple enough to use.

  7. All that is needed to use this device is a lock with a proper chain to tie the bike to the rack.

  8. When this device is used properly the theft of bikes are reduced.

  9. This doesn’t mean that it completely eliminates the problem though.

  10. There are also a number of different types of bike racks.

  11. The first is truck bed racks.

  12. These allow bikers to properly secure their bike in the flatbed of a truck.

  13. The next kind is a roof mount rack.

  14. This kind of rack proves very helpful if you drive a sedan or small vehicle.

  15. The third kind of rack is a spare tire mount bike rack.

  16. Drivers who have a vehicle such as a Jeep can really benefit from this device.

  17. Rack number four is a trunk mount rack.

  18. Let’s say that you rather not have a bike above your head while you are driving.

  19. This kind of rack allows you to secure your bike to the trunk of your vehicle.

  20. This is primarily used for smaller vehicles.

  21. The advantage of a bike rack is the ability to properly transport your bike from point A to point B.

  22. There are some disadvantages to bike racks.

  23. The proper installation of a bike rack can be time consuming.

  24. This is especially true if the rack is taken off one vehicle and put on another.

  25. Another disadvantage of this device is that it takes up space.

  26. This can be a real problem if you are trying to take your vehicle to a car wash.

  27. Even though there are disadvantages to having a bike rack if you are someone that rides a lot then the advantages may outweigh the cons of using this device.
