  1. Dallas And Traffic

  2. Last month I had to meet a friend on the east side of Dallas around 3pm.

  3. Since I am coming from the west side of Fort Worth, it would be about a 45 minute drive.

  4. The 45 minute drive will be much longer because of the time.

  5. Here in the DFW area traffic starts around 2pm and continues on until about 6:30pm.

  6. I set out to meet my friend around 1:45pm.

  7. I figured an hour and 15 minutes would be enough time to make it to Dallas even with the traffic.

  8. By the time I made it to the highway the traffic has already started.

  9. There also happened to be a car accident along the interstate which extended the traffic even further.

  10. Driving less than 10 miles per hour for just about half of the trip caused me to be about 30 minutes late.

  11. My friend was not too happy about me being late, but he understood that traffic here in the DFW area is really bad.

  12. Dallas Traffic Among the Worst

  13. According to the INRIX Traffic Scorecard Dallas ranks number 22 for the worst traffic congestion in the United States.

  14. Living in the DFW area you might understand why Dallas made it to the top 25 cities in the nation.

  15. The worst congestion in Dallas is I-35E between Mockingbird Lane and I-30.

  16. That specific area was ranked 47th worst in the country for traffic getting backed up.

  17. Traffic Gets Worse Every Year

  18. Each year, traffic seems to get worse and worse.

  19. I think it is because there are more and more people on the road every year.

  20. Teens that get their first car and people moving to the area are adding to the daily commuting group.

  21. Eventually there will be so many people out on the road that traffic will be too overwhelming.

  22. How To Fix The Traffic Problem

  23. A good way to tackle the growing traffic problem would be to expand the highways and roads and also build more toll roads.

  24. Some people think toll roads are bad, but personally I like them.

  25. The toll roads are usually clear and only have a few people on them, mainly because people do not want to pay anything.

  26. I do not mind paying a little bit of money to drive on a road that only has a few people on if it gets me around sitting in traffic.
