  2. What to Expect While Visiting Diamond Head ◦ Visit Diamond Head for a 360-degree view of the city. The trail is approximately 0.85 miles long and is suitable even for beginners. It is possible to hike alone or with children. Parking is easy. In addition to visiting Diamond Head, you can also visit Byodoin Temple. ◦ The trail runs for 0.8 miles. ◦ Diamond Head Trail is a 0.8 - mile walk with military history and geological heritage. It begins at an old military station and ends near the abandoned fire station. This hike can take around two hours. In winter, you may even spot a whaler. ◦ Parking is available in abundance. ◦ Visitors are advised not to park in the parking lot before visiting Diamond Head State Monument. Although this isn't mandatory, it helps reduce the number of people. Visitors to the monument must pay $5 and a $10 fee for parking. Children below three years old may enter free.
