Win 2k and Win XP operating systems will automatically detect the hardware when the USB cable that is attached to the Motorola phone is connected to the USB port of the Laptop. Download the Phone modem driver from the phone manufacturer’s website or use the phone CD for this purpose.

  1. Win 2k and Win XP operating systems will automatically detect the hardware when the USB cable that is attached to the Motorola phone is connected to the USB port of the Laptop. Download the Phone modem driver from the phone manufacturer’s website or use the phone CD for this purpose. In this example we shall use the Motorola V600 Handset. Connecting to the Internet using USB Cable > USB port on your Laptop

  2. Lets begin with installing the phone software Put in the CD and the following setup will begin.

  3. Click on “I Agree” On the next screen click on the option of Install mobile Phone Tools

  4. After this point, it is just Next, Next and then Finish.

  5. After installing the software, connect the USB cable which is connected to the phone to the USB port of your Laptop.

  6. Click on Start  Settings  Control Panel  Then double Click on the Phone and Modem Options icon

  7. Click on the Modems Tab

  8. 1st Click on the Modems tab 2nd Click on the modem which is connected on the IR port And then click on the properties button.

  9. Click on the Diagnostics tab

  10. Click on Query Modem

  11. Querying the Modem would result in successful response

  12. After you’ve finished checking the compatibility of your Motorola phone as a modem with your Laptop’s operating System, then create a new dialup connection Using your phone as a modem. Go to Start -> Programs -> Mobile Phone Tools -> Mobile Phone Tools
