  2. There are many decorations available for you and because young kids love trying to throw tinsel at the tree, you can get the whole family involved in decorating. However one thing about decorations is where the idea for decorations originated from. Christmas decorations date back to the 15th century, when London houses had to cover their ivy, bay and holm houses. They also had to add decorations suited to the green season, which is what the London authorities said. This is where the idea came from about making ivy lights at Christmas. The idea behind this was that the ivy shaped by the heart was intended to symbolize the coming of Jesus, and the holly was intended to protect the homes from pagans and witches, while the berries were the crown of thorns worn before Jesus died. 3. Christmas colours are commonly referred to as red and green, but the reason behind these colours is not known to many people. These are slightly related to the leaves that were compulsory for the green leaves and red berried by the Council of London as they went. The green color is intended to symbolize eternal life, symbolized by the use of evergreen trees that never lose their leaves. Green can also be linked to the rebirth of Jesus, who according to Christians, symbolized the fact that your life does not end there when you die. The color red is to make us recall the blood that Jesus poured on the cross on which he fell when he was nailed to it.

  4. It is likely you will include a nativity scene when you decorate your home, and these date back further than the Christmas leaves. The scene clearly depicts the location where Jesus was born and all the characters in this scene were apparently present at the birth of the Jewish King. Read more about the Eternal Christmas Store. The decorations of the nativity scene date back to the 10th century in Rome, although Saint Francis of Asissi did not make them popular until the 13th century and from then on they quickly became popular all over Europe as the now traditional scene was incorporated by many countries. Families were encouraged to try and develop their own nativity decorations, which were often passed down and used over and over again through generations. With some churches often showing huge nativity scenes outside of their parish, with the largest nativity scene being developed by Lise Berger in France, these scenes can be very extravagant. On a scale of 1 to 6, this scene features the surrounding village.

  5. From the traditions of the Pagans, the Christmas tree is somewhat significant and it was apparently converted into a Christian tradition. During their Winter Solace, the pagans used trees as a symbol of worship for somewhat strange reasons. This was because, because of their triangular shape that pointed to heaven as an arrow, they worshipped the fir trees. Get more info on Eternal Christmas Decorations. Until 1835, which was when the word was first recorded, the Christmas tree did not make it to the UK. This was imported from the German people already using tress, although it is argued that this is not the origin as Christmas trees were regularly used by Martin Luther in the 16th century. Until 1845, when large numbers of trees were used and they were not regularly used in America until the 1870s, it did not become a frequency in Britain.

  6. As items such as Christmas lights represent candles and items such as tinsel were introduced by generals for commercial value, which they obviously hold today, the modern decorations we have today are just developments from traditions.
