Family Visitor Program Information

Our agency offers parents in the Aspen to Parachute region an opportunity to choose a program that meets their needs during pregnancy and up until their child is 3 years old. <br><br>All services are free. <br><br>Pregnant women and new parents are bombarded with advice from social media, web sites, friends and family, much of which is conflicting. It is hard to figure out what is best for you and your family. We can help.<br>

  1. FAMILY VISITOR PROGRAMS IS FOR EVERYONE! Our agency offers parents, in the Aspen to Parachute region, an opportunity to choose a program that meets their needs during pregnancy and up until their child is 3 years old. All services are free and you can easily enroll by filling out a request for service. Services can be provided in a location that is convenient for you. WHEN THE INTERNET, FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE NOT ENOUGH. Pregnant women and new parents are bombarded with advice from social media, websites, friends and family. Much of what you hear is conflicting. It is hard to figure out what is best for you and your family. We can help. TRUSTED ADVICE TAILORED TO THE NEEDS OF THE FAMILY! For the past 35 years we have been providing parents with a choice of programs. Many parents tell us that have benefited from participating in one of our agency’s programs. Our highly trained staff provide you with encouragement, and education by recognizing your family’s strengths and sharing information during our time together.   2. ABOUT US Family Visitor Programs was established to address community concerns about increases in child abuse identified by a needs assessment in the 1980’s. The Home Visitor Program began providing services to families in the fall of 1983, as one of fifteen demonstration projects with seed money from a federal Maternal Child Health block grant. In November 1986, the program became an independent not-for-profit corporation. Because of community support, the agency was the only “demonstration” project to survive, and is the longest established new parent home visitation program in Colorado. The agency provides home visitation services to pregnant women and to parents of young children residing in the Aspen to Parachute, Colorado region.   4. Through the Nurse-Family Partnership, you will be connected with a nurse who will visit every week or two during your pregnancy and up until your baby is two years. Your nurse will help you: - Have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby - Become a stronger parent - Build a strong network of support for you and your baby - Make your home a safe place for your baby to live and play - Get referrals for health care, child care, job training and other support services available in your community - Find ways to continue your education and develop job skills - Set goals for your family’s future and find ways to help you reach them

  5. Healthy Families is a free and voluntary program that can help pregnant moms, expectant families and parents of newborns meet the challenges of parenting. Healthy Families is part of a national initiative to help those who are facing the greatest challenges get their children off to a happy, healthy start. It offers parents the choice of services of a longer duration. Enrollment is available prenatally or up to three months after the baby is born. Services are tailored to the family’s unique situation. They are free, confidential and voluntary.

  6. Partners for a Healthy Baby is a program that can help pregnant moms, expectant families and parents of infants get a little extra support. Services are tailored to the family’s unique needs. Partners for a Healthy Baby provides parents, in the Aspen to Parachute region, the opportunity to have up to five visits that focus on their needs and questions. These visits can happen during pregnancy or anytime during the baby’s 1st year.Our Visitors provide services in the family’s home or a community location of the family’s choice. They are available in English and Spanish. Visits are free, confidential and voluntary.
