What is this about? • The National Geographic Bee is an annual competition organized by the National Geographic Society, designed to inspire and reward students' curiosity about the world. • Students in grades four through eight (4-8) from 10,000 schools across the United States will compete in the 2018 National Geographic Bee for a chance to win college scholarships and the glory of being the National Geographic Bee Champion.

  5. Preliminary Round • This round has 7 categories • US State • History • Ocean • Wierd but true • World of Science • Odd one out • Culture Connection • Contestants will be asked questions on each category. • Maximum of 10 participants or less will be short-listed for the final round.

  6. Semifinals • Contestants will be asked questions in a mix of all categories. • Contestant who get 2 wrongs will be requested to leave the stage. • There are 2 questions asked to all contestants for which they have to write the answers. • Two or more 3rd or 2nd place contestants will go into a tie breaker.

  7. Finals - Championship Round • Two contestants will compete for School Championship.  • This round consists of 3 questions asked one at a time towards both the contestants. • The contestants have to write the answers in a piece of paper. • Contestant with 2 incorrect answer gets second place.

  9. Key Dates •  16th Nov - Wildcat Den - 8:00 to 8:40 AM for  Geo Bee Orientation • 19th Jan - WildCat Den - 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM for Geography Bee School Wide Competition. • 12th Jan - MUR - 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM for Sr. Spelling Bee. • 2nd Feb - MUR - 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM for Jr. Spelling Bee.
