About Us The Shoalhaven Festival of Fire business name is registered and owned by: Total Management Options Australasia (TMOA), an Australasian Learning and Organisational Development Company and Sunset Fireworks from Ulladulla, a well known and respected national pyrotechnique company. The Directors are: Meshelle Knapp and Russell Knapp from TMOA and Eric Crocker and Mark Killip, Sunset Fireworks The parties have a common desire to create a long term internationally recognised event to showcase the Shoalhaven region and encourage all business and community bodies to work together for a common cause. To build a festival that the Shoalhaven region can be proud of and bring people from international designations to experience the Shoalhaven and provide further investment and income to our local economy. Our collective experience includes, pyrotechniques, event management, sales and marketing, administration, organisational development, project coordination and the ability to work with a diverse group of organisations and associations.

Vision and Outline • Our vision is to create an international winter festival to showcase the Shoalhaven region in our winter season and build a world renown, annual festival. • Our intent is to develop and promote a festival incorporating an international fireworks competition from some of the worlds best pyrotecniques • To provide a large annual family festival with the theme of pirates and fire

Activities Activities may include: • Fire and fireworks displays around the region with the inclusion of international pyrotechnicians and tall ships display at Jervis Bay. • Daily street festivals, parades and family activities • Pirate theme races and activities in the parks and on the waterways • A wine and food festival to showcase local products • An annual winter gala dinner to raise funds for selected charities • Picnics and barbeques for family events

Logistics • Formation of a festival committee incorporating state and local councils, tourism bodies and associations • Corporate sponsorship to bring the international pyrotecnique companies to Jervis Bay • To provide flyers and banners • To assist in the funding of a national advertising campaign • Bus tours to the region and an active bus system to transport visitors to the bay for scheduled activities • Partner a TV Channel to advertise and promote the event on a national basis • Approach to cruise companies to bring cruises into the bay • Approach to the owners of the Tall Ships to be in the bay and provide a foundation for some of the fire activities • Approach to the navy to participate in the program and assist in the water activities • Approach to travel centres to promote a Jervis Bay package around Australia, including flights, transfers and accommodation to attract new visitors to the area. • Assistance by local and state government tourism bodies to support and promote the annual event • To provide all businesses with a source of income in a period of slow trading • To provide employment in the low trading season

Desired Outcome • To showcase the Shoalhaven region as an internationally recognised destination. • To build an annual world renown winter festival in the region • To create a new point of focus to attract tourists to the Shoalhaven in the quite winter period • To assist local businesses to bridge the gap between the lucrative summer period and the low winter period • To encourage investment in the region and provide opportunities of employment to the local residents and their children.

Wish list • To raise $250,000.00 from corporate sponsorship to fund the administration, pyrotechniques, advertising and signage pieces of the project. • To form partnerships with local and state tourism bodies and large corporate sponsors to promote the event • To access decision makers in the right places to achieve the desired result in a timely fashion

  9. Event Calender – 3rd – 6th July 2009 The first event will be scheduled to run over a 4 day period during the school holidays in July, commencing Friday Evening July 3rd. Friday Night – Voyager Park As visitors arrive to the region they will be invited to attend a small fireworks display around 8.30pm to launch the weekend, hand out event schedules and welcome visitors to the region. Entertainment to be provided in White Sands Park for the families and kids. Saturday – Pirate Day Huskisson Street Parade by the local schools, teams and organisations. Pirate costume competition and school plays. Water events including kids pirate boat race, fishing competition on the wharf, family day in the park with fire displays, kite and lantern building classes. Tall Ships mock battle on the bay. Saturday Night Gala Dinner Nowra Entertainment Centre.

Events calendar continued Sunday – Wine and Food Festival Wine and Food festival to be held to promote local wines and produce Markets to promote homemade goods Kids entertainment and activities Sunday Evening – Primary Fireworks Display at Jervis Bay Lantern parade, Family Entertainment and Picnic in the Park around the Fire. Monday – Family Tour Day An array of tours to be available around the Shoalhaven Towns to showcase the region, shopping outlets and restaurants Monday Evening - Campfire Family Barbeque Halloween in July, sing along with local artists, aboriginal fire display, flame throwers, cracker and sky rocket night

  11. Sponsorship Packages The following are the sponsorship packages. Shoalhaven Festival of Fire would like attract a major sponsor for the event, a number of event sponsors and donations. Primary Sponsor benefits: Primary naming rights, logo on all advertising, signs and banners at all functions and events, advertising brochures and representatives at all events, corporate table at the Gala Dinner and Ball. Event Sponsorships Event Sponsored by naming rights, banners and logos on specific event, corporate logo on all paper based advertising, company brochures at sponsored event Donations Welcome from individuals, local bodies, associations and community groups for the chosen charity of the event

Summary • Our team envisages that the first event will be the trial event from which we will grow the event to a festival that the Shoalhaven will be recognised for on an international platform. • That the event will be grown over an initial period of 3 years to a two week event to stage the International Pyrotechniques Competition on an annual basis. This will be the first for Australia and be the signature event for the Shoalhaven Region. • That the people of the Shoalhaven, including local government, business and community groups will embrace the event and provide assistance in the ongoing organisation of the event. • That the Shoalhaven will benefit in exposure, popularity and a greater return to business during a traditionally low trading period. “So lets get cracking and make this go off with a bang”
