  2. Why do I need an Engineering Foundation Certification ? You need an engineering foundation certificationfor a manufactured home if you are applying for an FHA loan. You also need an engineering foundation certification for a conventional loan and VA loan. Lenders want to know if the manufactured home was properly installed. Foundation, piers and tie-downs are the structural integrity of a manufactured home. Our Licensed Structural Engineers are qualified to certify the foundation of a manufactured home and a mobile home.

The FHA is a division of the U.S. Department of HUD. The FHA insures mortgages. The FHA requires that a licensed structural engineer design new manufactured home’s foundations. A licensed structural engineer should also certify that the foundation of an existing manufactured home meets the FHA requirements.
