  2. The big secrets for tile cleaning can be found at your home or neighborhood • Hydrogen peroxide - you spray hydrogen peroxide on the surface, wait at least 30 minutes and then scrub with a nylon-bristle cleaning brush. As a whitening agent, hydrogen peroxide is remarkably effective

  3. Things you can find in your kitchen • Vinegar (a dilute acid). • Baking soda (here a poultice is made for scrubbing).

  4. Bon Ami (this is calcium carbonate — a green option that will require some scrubbing). • Borax (scrubbing required).

  5. Test your grout cleaner on a small, inconspicuous area first to make sure that it won't erode or damage your grout work. This is especially necessary if your tile grout is old or damaged.

  6. Never mix cleaners together! Chemical reactions can cause noxious fumes or burns if the mixture touches the skin.
