  1. WHAT IS SEARCH ENGINE? A search engine is a software system that provides hyperlinks to web pages and other relevant information on the Web in response to a user's query 1. Google Google is the top search engine in the world. It has a complex and advanced algorithm that ensures you get the most accurate results for your search phrase. In addition, it brings you the best image and video results, as well as updated news articles related to your search. 2. Bing Bing is the second-largest search engine globally by market share. Some people prefer it to Google. For example, the video results tab is more visual, with results arranged in a grid as opposed to the regular list-style results that Google shows. 3. Yahoo Despite Bing owning Yahoo, the search engine results for any given phrase are not identical on the two sites. Results vary even more for long-tail keywords, searches outside the US, and search results beyond the first page.

  2. 4. DUCKDUCKGO MOST SEARCH ENGINES TRACK YOUR ACTIVITY AND SEARCH HISTORY. WHILE THEY DO THIS TO PERSONALIZE YOUR RESULTS AND SHOW TARGETED ADS, MANY USERS ARE SUSPICIOUS OF SUCH TRACKING, SEEING IT AS A BREACH OF PRIVACY. DUCKDUCKGO STANDS OUT FROM OTHER MAJOR SEARCH ENGINES BECAUSE IT DOESN’T TRACK YOUR HISTORY. IT DOESN’T COLLECT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION, NOR DOES IT TRACK YOUR IP ADDRESS. 5. GOOGLE SCHOLAR GOOGLE SCHOLAR IS INCLUDED SEPARATELY FROM GOOGLE BECAUSE IT GENERATES ENTIRELY DIFFERENT RESULTS. IT FOCUSES ON SCHOLARLY ARTICLES, INCLUDING RESEARCH PAPERS, JOURNALS, STUDIES, AND MORE. IT IS THE SEARCH ENGINE OF CHOICE FOR STUDENTS LOOKING FOR ACADEMIC RESOURCES AND PROFESSIONALS SEARCHING FOR SOURCES OTHER THAN BLOG POSTS. 6. DOGPILE DOGPILE HAS BEEN AROUND SINCE 1996, MAKING IT ONE OF THE OLDEST SEARCH ENGINES ON THE WEB. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SEARCH ENGINES IS THAT IT IS A METASEARCH ENGINE – IT INCLUDES RESULTS FROM GOOGLE, YAHOO, BING, YANDEX, AND OTHER SEARCH ENGINES. 7. YANDEX YANDEX IS A RUSSIAN SEARCH ENGINE, BUT IT WILL PRODUCE RESULTS IN ENGLISH IF YOU ARE IN THE UNITED STATES. IT HAS ITS OWN MAP SERVICE TO RIVAL GOOGLE MAPS, WHICH TENDS TO BE SUPERIOR IN EASTERN EUROPE AND EX-SOVIET COUNTRIES.

  3. TYPES OF SEARCH ENGINES 1. Crawler/ Spider/Machine Based Search Engine Automated software programs to access the web pages. e.g. Google,Yahoo,Bing etc. 2. Directory/ Human Based Search Engine Directories are human powered search engines. A website is submitted to the directory and must be approved for inclusion by editorial staff e.g. Education, Food, Business etc. 3. Hybrid Search Engine Combination of both crawler based and manual directory indexing for listing the sites in search results e.g. Google 4. Specialty Search Engine Specialty Search Engines have been developed to cater for demands of niche areas e.g. FB,IG,Ola,Swiggy,Matrimony sites,Amazon,Netflix Just dial etc. 5. Meta Search Engine Meta Search Engines take the results from all the other search engines results, and combine them into one large listing

  4. HOW DOES THE SEARCH ENGINE WORKS? Search Engines work by crawling hundreds of billions of pages using their own web crawlers. These web crawlers are commonly referred to as search engine bots or spiders. A search engine navigates the web by downloading web pages and following links on these pages to discover new pages that have been made available. User enters query and spiders go to work User Search Index Analyse and match query Users choose among search results Search Engine Software Display Results Sorts URLs

  5. Types Of SEO 1.On Page SEO 2. Off Page SEO On-page SEO (also called on-site SEO) is the process of optimising web pages and their content for both search engines and users. It can help rank pages higher on Google and drive more organic traffic. Common tasks associated with on-page SEO include optimising for search intent, title tags, internal links, and URLs. Off-page SEO includes activities done off of a website in an effort to increase the site's search engine rankings. Common off-page SEO actions include building backlinks, encouraging branded searches, and increasing engagement and shares on social media.

  6. Techniques Of SEO 1. White HAT Generally, white hat SEO refers to any practice that improves your search rankings on a search engine results page (SERP) while maintaining the integrity of your website and staying within the search engines' terms of service. 2. Black HAT Black hat SEO is a practice against search engine guidelines, used to get a site ranking higher in search results. These unethical tactics don't solve for the searcher and often end in a penalty from search engines. Black hat techniques include keyword stuffing, cloaking, and using private link networks. 3. Gray HAT Grey hat SEO techniques are methods that combine both white hat and black hat SEO tactics. For example, creating high-quality content and then buying backlinks for it is a grey hat SEO technique. Creating content is a white-hat SEO technique and buying links is a clear black-hat SEO technique.
