  2. Board decided in July 2003 to postpone decision on revising eligibility list until phase 2 Important to establish eligibility early for GAVI phase 2 The WB 2003 list of GNI/capita is now final Background

  3. Revising the List of Eligible Countries • WB considers it impossible to rank Cuba, Iraq and Equatorial Guinea • Proposed: only to change the current list of eligibility based on evidence (= WB 2003 data) • Proposed: to revise the eligibility list again in 2006 based on 2005 GNI/capita data

  4. Proposal (with slight change from the document) • To include Kiribati • Cuba remains on the list • To exclude Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, China and Turkmenistan • Iraq and Equatorial Guinea remain outside the list

  5. Country Eligibilty List for GAVI Phase 2 The list of GAVI eligible countries changes from 75 to 72, based on 2003 WB data:
