Amidst the prevailing trend of continuous demolitions for new constructions, this endeavor opted for a distinctive route, preserving the original residence while expanding its livable space. By introducing new areas and refurbishing existing spaces, a comprehensive overhaul transformed the internal layout, creating a more appealing living environment. Passive design principles were employed to enhance thermal e?ciency and elevate overall comfort levels, surpassing the minimum standards. In an era dominated by demolitions, Lyneham is a testament to the possibilities of adaptive reuse in suburban Canberra. The recent extension facilitated an influx of high-quality northern light into the existing space. It maintains a distinct contrast between the new and the old, ensuring the narrative of the original home remains evident to passersby.
