  1. Independent Project Zeenat Bidassy N0211220

  2. Starting point: My ideas Lakeside, Nottingham Contemporary- Story Telling Theme- Japanese Heritage/ fictional Lakeside/ Market Square-outdoor- Japanese Festival- (due to earthquake- show support) (London Or Nottingham: Galleries of Justice, Wolloton Hall, Game-City/ Outdoor or Partly)- Treasure Hunt- Peter Pan ,Maze of Escape- Alice in Wonderland (trial at the end, throughout games to reach different levels) Sherwood Forest or Castle- Robin hood and Maid Marion’s Wedding (Feast, Music, Dance)

  3. My intent/Proposal • To create an event during Spring 2012 (March), for an open audience between the ages of 17-above in Nottingham. • Ideally I would like the event to be held outdoors providing the whether situation is positive, however it will seem most likely that the outdoors would have to be brought indoors. • I would like to create an interactive installation/piece with elements of Dance, Music, Games and Performance under a main theme of Heritage. • Personally I would like to involve heritage elements from different cultures such as games, costumes and music. • I would like the installation to be in a form of a Maze, where the participants will encounter a few trials needing participation and resolving to continue throughout the maze but also a few breaks to enjoy “a spot of Tea” or an act. • I would have a structure where only a certain amount of people are allowed in at a time e.g. 10 people with a limit of 1 hour, and others would have to wait and enjoy other elements of the installation e.g. Workshops or performances, etc

  4. My Influence • My major inspiration comes from “Alice’s adventure in Wonderland” • I like the elements of English heritage in it, such as, the tea party, the element of royalty the gardens. • I was mostly drawn to the Maze and immediately wanted to structure my installation within this design and immediately arouse interaction with the audience. • I also like the element of games in the story; the pack of cards and croquet, each game originated from different countries. • The Fantastic Maze Book by Juliet & Charles Snape

  5. The “Game Trail” • Riddle Solving- find clues to solve a riddle and go onto next level- Cheshire Cat and Caterpillar • Game winnings- Chess, Hide and Seek, Cards • Passing without being caught by a guard- use of tracking and GPS (guards would have the same device to trap or avoid the participants) • Form of mobile telephone to communicate with other members of group (voice and Video, camera)

  6. The Rules • Each group of 10 members max, requires 1 leader • If asked to separate, have to be in at least a pair. • Each Group/Pair will be given a “Phone” to communicate with each other • Allowed to communicate and receive a limit of 3 clues from someone who has already been through the Maze or a Participant/ guide. • Each group needs to solve all riddles, win at least one game and visit each part of the maze and its characters at least once and max twice. *More than twice will be escorted to the final trial (lost). • Play Hide and Seek with Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, avoid being found to escape and move onwards with game.
