  1. Finding The Right International School For Your Child

  2. Choosing the right school for your child’s education can be a daunting task. There are many international school in Mumbai,, but any parent would want their child to get education from the best one. There are some great choices of  international school in Oshiwara  as well to look upon. Asking the right questions can help you choose the right school. Here are a few questions that every parent must ask and the kind of answers they must expect while choosing an  international school in Juhu.

  3. What steps do you take to ensure that the children settle in comfortably to your school? • During the initial period in the school, after admission, every student must have a mentor or a ‘buddy’. Every school must have a policy regarding helping new students settle in to school and this policy must be shared with the parents to help them understand the steps taken by the school in doing so. Every child is special, and the school should be doing everything they possibly can to ensure that the students feel the same and do not feel left out.

  4. 2. What curriculum does the school follow? Every school follows a specialized set of curriculum based on its affiliation, ideologies and ethos, which is good, as it is what differentiates a particular school from others. But if you are considering or expecting to move to some other place in the future, you must make sure that it wouldn’t be too much for your child to adapt to the new curriculum over and over. Therefore, check if the curriculum would be portable in case you decide to move to another school.

  5. 3. What is the teacher to student ratio at your school? Maintaining an appropriate teacher to student ratio is crucial. It should be such that each student gets an equal amount of attention so that no individual student is left out. Therefore, it is necessary that you ask this question. Many schools maintain a maximum of 24 for senior school and 15 for the school form. And if it is lower than that, consider it a bonus. The number is usually higher for primary school classes with a maximum of 32, and it is always suggested to check the number of teachers to pupils. The teacher/student ratio can make a huge deal of difference.

  6. 4. How have the pupils in your school performed academically in the past few years? A school’s past achievements reflects the performance of the teaching staff and the quality of education provided by the institution. Examinations determine where your child is going in the future. It is a quantification of their overall academic performance. If the particular school is mature, then you may ask for alumnus of past students to ascertain which universities they have went to.

  7. 5. What are the extra-curricular activities that you offer? Extra-curricular activities such as sports, debates, dance, drama, music, etc. are as important as academic performance. It helps your child explore his/her talents and skills and allow them to develop those skills.
