  2. Background Number of Current Students: Curative Medicine = 50 Pediatrics = 30 Dentistry = 20 Nursing =40 The pilot program included all the above mentioned faculties of KMU (1st class) except nursing school.

  3. Goal Providing standard quality PBL program for Kabul Medical University.

  4. Objectives • Standardization of PBL tutorials in KMU • Scenarios, Students’ self-directed learning • Giving feedback to KMU leadership in the support of PBL • Feedback to PBL committee • Improvement of tutor performance. • Feedback to tutors, stressing on weak points (Based on data collection)

  5. Methodology • Number of students = 100 (sample). • Checklist development for 100 students. • Checklist for evaluation of students/tutors • Data collection process from 1st week to the end of 4th week of the semester • Data analysis during 5th and 6th week of the semester • Providing feedback at the end of 7th week of the evaluation process • The 2nd phase of evaluation begins in the beginning of 8th week of the semester and continues as the first phase

  8. Weaknesses • Insufficient Experience. • Low motivation of teachers. • Low awareness of Evaluation importance. • student‘s unfamiliarity with evaluation. • Ignoring attendance sheet of students to PBL classes. • Ignoring PBL Exam scores in final Exam.

  9. Resources for PBL • Stationary: EDC is in charge • Tutor guide: Writer to be decided • Text books. • Teacher (experienced).

  10. Schedule • 1st evaluation result is announced at the 7th week of the semester. • 2nd evaluation result announced in the end of final semester exam.
