  1. Elaborating the Basic Components of Butterfly Valves Butter valve technology has evolved tremendously in the past few years. It allows better flow control through a rotational disk. For less flow resistance, the disk in the passageway remains thin. Avannto, a leading manufacturer of China butterfly valves, provides more information about the valve’s basic components. The four basic components of the butterfly valve are: body, disk, stem and seat. Body The body is designed in a way to settle between two flanges of a pipe. Lug and wafer are two common body designs. Lug body features protruding lugs while the wafer body doesn’t have such any lug. Each type of body has its own set of advantages, such as: Wafer style – Doesn’t cause the transfer of the weight of piping system directly through the valve body. More cost-effective than lug designs. Lug style – Facilitate the removal of downstream piping. Disk The flow closure component, disk can have many variations in terms of design to provide better sealing, flow, and/or operating torque. It’s like

  2. a plug in the plug valve, ball in the ball valve, and gate in the gate valve. Rotation of the disk causes opening and closing of valve. Stem Depending on the design, it may be a one-piece shaft or split-stem i.e. two-piece design. In resilient designs, stem is protected from the media. On the other hand, it remains in contact with the media in high- performance design. It must possess additional strength in this case. Seat In resilient butterfly valves, it has an interference fit between the disk edge and the seat to ensure shutoff. Elastomers or polymers are the best materials of choice for seat. High-performance butterfly valves have a different system for shutoff. It can have a line-energized seat design or an interference-fit seat design. Reinforced PTFE (RTFE) or polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is the material of choice for seat to support a wide range of temperature changes. Source url- https://bit.ly/2YSBWU7
