  3. Advantage 3 Navigation The Advantage Financial Home Page is the first page you see after you log on to the system.  NAU has set up a default Home Page, but you can personalize this page so that you view your own Home Page instead.

  4. What are the Primary and Secondary Navigation Panel? • Primary Navigation Panel - This panel contains icons and links that enable you to personalize

  5. What are the Primary and Secondary Navigation Panel? • Secondary Navigation Panel – Unlike the primary navigation panel's icons and links, which remain static, the menus that appear in the secondary navigation panel change, depending on what type of page you are on

  6. What are Sub sections? • Is smaller hierarchy of the secondary navigational panel

  7. Page Search • Page Search is located on the secondary navigation panel

Page Search • Filling in as many of the search options as necessary in order to refine a search • Category - Select one of the values in the dropdown menu • Page Type - Select one of the values in the dropdown menu • Description – Enter all or a portion of the page description • Page Code – Enter all or a portion of the page code

  9. Document Catalog Search • Document Catalog is located on the secondary navigation panel. The Document Catalog opens up in Search mode. Searching for documents, are based on the search criteria entered by the subsections • Click on the subsection expand/collapse icons next to the subsection titles or click on the expand all and collapse all icons

What are Wildcards? • Applicable wildcard characters can be used to search within Advantage • Wildcards can be used as part of any lookup field • Asterisk (*) – For example, type “budget” in the Description field on Page search and all pages that have Budget in their Description will be returned • Colon (:) – For Example, type 1/1/2006 : 2/15/2006 in the Create Date field on the Document Catalog to view all documents created on or after 2/15/2006

What are Wildcards? • Greater than sign (>) – For Example, type >2/15/2006 in the Create Date field on the Document Catalog to view all documents created after February 15, 2006 • Greater than or equal to sign (>=) – For Example, type >=2/15/2006 in the Create Date field on the Document Catalog to view all documents created on or after February 15, 2006

  12. What are Wildcards? • Less than sign (<) – For Example, type <200 in the Fund field on the Fund table to view all funds that are less than 200

  13. What are Wildcards? • Less than or equal to sign (<=) – For Example, type <=1000 in the Available Cash Balance search field on the Cash Balance table to view all funds that have an available cash balance less than $1000.00
