  8. Background information • Established in 1998 • Owned by two veterinarians • Located in Lexington, Ohio • Clientele include pet owners in the Richland County area • Patients include small animals, exotics, and equine

  25. Large Animal Experience • Assisted Dr. Abel during horse calls • Restrained animals (sheep, horses) • Made sure proper equipment and supplies were stocked • Viewed floating of teeth

  28. I was able to scrub into a few surgeries and suture up the patients

  29. My Experience • I learned a great deal from both veterinarians • Enjoyed working with the staff • Developed people skills and lasting friendships • Learned about surgeries, vaccines, and common procedures • Both doctors were extremely helpful and came in before and after hours in order to help me learn more about veterinary medicine

  30. Future Plans • This experience reaffirmed the fact that I do want to become a veterinarian • However, I discovered that I do not want to just work with small animals. I would like to work with exotics and equine as well.
