  1. Guide to Purchasing the Right Backpack A backpack is, essentially, a lightweight cloth bag carried over one's shoulder and secured by two straps which pass over both arms. The term "backpack" is derived from the German "buchen", meaning strap or thong. A backpack can have an internal frame or external frame; some backpacks are a mix of internal and external frames, while others are completely one-frame or fully adjustable. Backpacks are often made of nylon, canvas, leather, or other light-weight but durable materials. They are great for traveling, because they are extremely sturdy and hard- wearing, but can also be worn to keep a bookcase or purse open while waiting at the airport or bus terminal. A backpack has several main compartments and several optional accessories, which, depending on the model, may be clipped on or attached to the body of the backpack. These include zippers, pockets, or external attachment straps that allow for accessories such as radios or other devices to be added to the load. Some backpacks have a large internal storage area where a variety of smaller pockets may be stitched together. Other compartments may be divided into multiple pockets and may contain zippers or other closures, or be used to hold only one item. Some backpacks even contain a dedicated outdoor pocket designed specifically for drinking water, or another pocket designed to carry smaller accessories for hiking. The main compartment of a backpack holds the essential equipment needed for the hiking trip. Most models will hold a tent, sleeping bag, hiking shoes, rain gear, food and drink, and other items the hiker wants to take along. Most models will also include an inside mesh pocket designed to hold small accessories and other personal items. An alternative to the main compartment of a backpack is the "proper" backpack, which is designed to carry much more in the way of supplies. Such backpacks will usually feature either an extending metal frame or straps that can be attached to the shoulder straps. This type of backpack allows for much more packing space, since it will not be zipped up like the typical backpack. Some of these frames will also feature two or three individual zippered pouches, which can be used to carry a variety of smaller items. In addition to all of this, some models will feature a padded back pocket and adjustable shoulder straps. The most common reasons people choose to use this type of backpack is that it allows for much more storage than a traditional backpack. There are basically two types of backpacks: the fixed frame backpack and the frameless backpack. Both types will feature a pair of hip belts that go between the frame and the backpack. Frameless backpacks tend to not feature any hip belts at all, meaning you have to make sure your straps stay on your hips. On the other hand, fixed frame backpacks will usually include a waist belt that goes across your torso. Choosing the right backpack depends largely on your physical size and posture, as well as on what you will primarily be using it for. If you are an athlete, it is important to look for a model that features a rigid frame. These types often have a longer carrying handle and are much heavier due to their rigid construction. However, they are also typically sturdier and allow for a straighter

If you are just looking for a light backpack to take on a long weekend road trip, you will likely want to go with a lighter-frame design and find one that has flexible joints. https://www.bloglovin.com/@katherineconley2/how-to-choose-a-best-mini-backpack-for-you https://articles.abilogic.com/491206/why-teens-always-treated-sling.html https://we.riseup.net/mycontent/what-you-need-to-know-to-choose-the-best-rucksack https://dailygram.com/index.php/blog/891722/things-need-to-consider-on-classic-mini- backpack-before-choose-to-buy/ https://wakelet.com/wake/Y3bBs_CNXseDY4B0-5IDY
