When you go to your favorite burrito shop, do you always get the same stale tacos or chimichangas (which, by the way, was probably originated in America) despite the fact that you adore Mexican food? Maybe you have been afraid to visit that very genuine restaurant down the block since you are concerned that you would not recognize anything on the menu. 1. Things to Order at Mexican Restaurants You Never Know About When you go to your favorite burrito shop, do you always get the same stale tacos or chimichangas  (which, by the way, was probably originated in America) despite the fact that you adore Mexican food? Maybe you have been afraid to visit that very genuine restaurant down the block since you are concerned that you would not recognize anything on the menu. You would not need to worry about your next Mexican food fiesta after reading this tutorial on the top meals to sample in Mexican restaurants.

  2. Chilaquiles The simplest forms of chilaquiles are very popular in Mexico for breakfast. But varieties with meats and vegetables may be seen on many lunch and supper menus. If you prefer nachos, there is a good chance you will appreciate chilaquiles as well. Having a distinct texture, they share a lot of the same flavors.

  3. Chalupas The name "chalupas" refers to the boats that the ancient Aztecs used to cross the canals of what is now Mexico City. Chalupas are a popular street food in central Mexico. Manteca cooks maize tortillas for a limited length of time (lard). The outcome is a foundation that is still malleable and not quite as crunchy as a taco.

  4. Sopa/caldo   Mexico loves its soups, and caldo de pollo is a favourite (chicken soup). Soups like sopa de tortilla (tortilla soup), sopa de habas (fava bean soup), and sopa de frijol (black bean soup), to mention a few, you can frequently see on authentic Mexican menus. It is highly advised to get a bowl of soup before your dinner because a decent, authentic Mexican restaurant will take their soup very seriously

  5. Barbacoa Barbacoa, which is Spanish for "barbecue," is a term that describes any slow-roasted, barbecued meat. However, in traditional barbacoa, sheep or goat often grills over an open flame or in a fire pit lined with leaves. Then, different salsas or mole adds to the mouthwateringly charred meat. If you see barbacoa on a menu, make sure to ask what kind of meat uses, otherwise you might be in for a tasty surprise.
