IL/PTAC • Funded by Black Hawk College, Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), State of IL & DECO IEN Network • Provides No Cost assistance to IL companies to sell goods & services to federal, state, local government agencies, and school districts • Small fee for training/counseling/information

  4. BOP Needs: Community Services & Products *Staff all professional, ethical and diverse group of individuals *Most Professional staff members relocate every 2 yrs. (investigate area life styles/living standards on the net) *Income 60,000 to 100,000K *905 jobs moving to Thomson *Approx. need 450 newly trained jobs

  5. Fed BOP Needs Cont. • 3,200 –7,000 inmates to Thomson • Funds released (if approved ) 10/1/10 • All employees are Federal Law Enforcement Officers • Need 140 Volunteers (religion/education)

What you need before you pursue government contracts/subcontracts • Adequate capitalization • Drive, determination, & patience • A competitive advantage • Demand for products/services • Competitive pricing and margins • An effective quality system • A current business plan • Bonding, insurance and security clearance (if required) • Internet access and skills

  7. BOP Needs Cont. Community Services • Quality child care • Hotel/motel within gov. per diem rates • Health care professionals that honor fed health insurance providers • Recreational opportunities i.e.: movie theaters, sports leagues for children and adults
