The Project • Nation wide screening • Diabetes and Diabetic Retinopathy • Establish Screening Clinics across the country with AIOS collaboration • Identify and network treatmentcenters Tertiary and institutes • Network Tele Ophthalmologycenters for screening • Establish mobile screening clinics

  5. The Need Purpose and Strategy • The growing menace of Diabetic Blindness • Avoidable blindness • Fifty percent undiagnosed • Involvement and supportGovt Health care System • Private sector • NGOs Rotary Lions • Coordinating and streamliningthe project

Aims Objectives Methodology • Detect and treat Diabetic Retinopathy • Diabetic retinopathy screening clinics • Identify and recruit Treatment Centers • Establish a networking system for tele ophthalmology centers • A concurrent diabetic screening detect novice diabetics • Observing World Diabetes Day, World Sight Day

  7. Health Education • Create awareness Diabetes and complications • Health Education classes • Seminars and training sessions • Press and Media publicity • These measures at regular intervals

The Working Module • Initially adopt the strategy of AIOS • Form a Committee to workout the details of implementing the project • Committee to hold discussions with Minister of health, DGHS, Director of Control of Blindness Program and NRHM • Need concurrence and involvement • Ensure support and participation NGOsRotary Lions Club
