NAIPC® National Mission: • The National Aging in Place Council® was developed to build awareness and create a forum for individuals from various sectors to work together to help meet the needs of our growing aging population. NAIPC® creates a national platform by generating awareness and supporting local chapters in communities throughout the nation.
National Organization Roles and Responsibilities: • • Create strong public relations and advocacy campaign • ª To build awareness of aging in place issues • ª Draw attention to services NAIPC® members provide • • Be viewed as a trusted source by senior citizens • • Establish Code of Conduct, bylaws, and accountability procedures • • Provide guidelines for establishing local chapters • • Build and support Aging in Place Week activities across country • • Provide forum for chapter leadership networking and education • • Create and host national events • • Develop and maintain website for both member and consumer audiences • • Maintain member listings on website • • Maintain membership records • • Provide national financial management and reporting

Chapter Organization Roles and Responsibilities: • • Gain understanding of issues facing seniors • • Increase awareness of solutions available to seniors in local community • • Provide networking opportunities to members • • Organize events, such as regularly scheduled chapter meetings and AIP Week • • Establish local chapter as source for information and expertise • • Create positive impact to members’ businesses and encourage industry growth • • Maintain chapter-based information on website • • Provide financial records required by National for compliance • • Shape the national public relations and advocacy campaign by providing information regarding • regional trends in the aging in place industry • • Enforce Code of Conduct, bylaws, and accountability procedures; create chapter bylaws
Serving Seniors… • To serve seniors we must understand how to raise their consciousness about the issues of aging. • In order to raise the consciousness of aging issues we as professionals must know them first.
About Our Local Chapter Our mission has two primary goals: 1. In-Reach- educate our members who are the senior service professionals 2. Out-Reach- educate our local senior citizens on issue they face.
How will we accomplish this? “In-Reach” High level educational session at every meeting for our members These educational sessions will provide an in-depth look at the multiple dimensions of aging and how they interface with various service areas.
Education, Education, Education . . . Topics that will be covered: -Health, Financial, Social- Topics covered by: -Experts who are best suited to address these topics. -Dozens of professionals all dedicated to your success.
How will we accomplish our second goal?“Out-Reach” The Central Virginia NAIPC… -Our members will conduct presentations, seminars, and a conference for our seniors in our community. -We will share the knowledge of our members with our local senior citizens.
