  1. Important things to remember when buying fitted sheets. Fitted sheets are sent from above! They stay in place and help you avoid the painful task of spreading and tucking every morning. However, buying the perfect fitted sheets is another story! There’s a lot to keep in mind to ensure you get sheets that have a snug fit and give you that cozy feeling every time you hit the sack! And, if you get the wrong sheets, they will either refuse to stay put or appear baggy. Basically, they will leave you disappointed and that’s not a great feeling to have at the start of the day! That’s why we thought of highlighting some simple tips you can use to purchase the perfect fitted sheets and enjoy the satisfaction of having a perfect looking bed every day. Have a look! 1. Get the size right! When it comes to fitted sheets, size is extremely important. Remember that your choice of sheets should not depend on the size of your bed, i.e. king, queen, twin, etc. Rather, one must choose fitted sheets based on the measurement of the mattress; more specifically, the length, breadth, and depth of the mattress. Once you know the exact dimensions, you can simply go online and find size charts to help you pick out the right fitted sheets for your home. 2. Materials. Fitted sheets come in a number of materials. Now, the thing to note is that each of these materials will have a different feel and set of characteristics that will make them suitable for different seasons and climate condition. For example, cotton sheets are lighter, crisper and more breathable; perfect hot summer days and nights. However, when the cold creeps in, flannel woven wool, yarn, and similar materials are perfect to keep you snug and cozy. 3. Weave. Material is one thing and the weave is another; don’t get the two confused. Materials can take on a completely different persona depending on the weaving method. Amongst the most common weaves for fitted sheets is Percale. This is a weave that provides a light and crisp feeling to the material. Percale can be used with different materials but cotton is the most ideal fabric for this weave.

  2. 4. Quality. Remember to look for quality fitted sheets. How do you do that, you ask? It’s simple, look for numbers like thread count and grams per square meter. Higher thread counts are considered as a mark of higher quality, as are heavier sheets. However, the ideal numbers in both these cases are subjective – for percale sheets, heavier & denser sheets will become thicker and less breathable and so, it is ideal to get sheets with a thread count between 200 & 400, no lower or higher. 5. Consider purchasing online. Sure, you might not have the benefit of actually picking up the sheet and gauging its quality, but you will save a lot of time and energy! You will also be able to skim through numerous options from different online stores quickly and without breaking a sweat. Just remember to find an online store with decent return policies to ensure that, if you get fitted sheets you do not like, you can return/exchange/get your money back conveniently. Hope this has been helpful, good luck!
