    Slide 3:In 2001, 317 million person trips occurred in California. A person-trip is one individual traveling more than 50 miles from their home other than going to work or to school.     How much money do these travelers spend? The average expenditure per person per day (excluding transportation) is $81.10. The average expenditure per person per day for non-California residents on a leisure trip is $76.00, not including transportation
