  3. Electronic Commerce • GUI • WISE (Wholesale Internet Service Engine) • WISE provides a site on the Internet where authorized users can go to perform Local Service Provider functions. To obtain access the user must have a valid login ID and password as well as a digital certificate. Both can be obtained by accessing our web site @ http://128.11.40.241/wise/index.html.   4. Electronic Commerce • Electronic • CORBA • CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture) is an application-to-application "real-time" interface. CORBA Transactions are transported via a dedicated TCP/IP connection which the Service Provider provisions. Since CORBA connectivity is supported via a dedicated private line, there are no additional security requirements (such as digital certificate, etc).

  5. Electronic Commerce • Electronic • FTP - Dedicated • Dedicated FTP (File Transfer Protocol/Program) is a transport that utilizes a dedicated TCP/IP connection to Verizon’s Tampa firewall. Verizon provides an ID and Password, which the Provider uses to send order files to Verizon and retrieve return feed files from Verizon.

  6. Electronic Commerce • Electronic • FTP - Dial Up • Dial FTP (File Transfer Protocol/Program) is a transport similar to Dedicated FTP but its access to the firewall is via a dial-up connection. Verizon provides a telephone number and an ID and Password to the Service Provider. The Provider dials the telephone number, inputs the ID and Password and uses the connection to send files as well as to retrieve return feed files from Verizon.

  7. Electronic Commerce • Electronic • Internet Mailbox • Internet Mailbox allows Service Providers to send and receive files over the Internet. The Service Provider must have access to the Internet, purchase Pretty Good Privacy™ (PGP) for Personal Use for encryption/decryption and use a version of FTP that allows specification of one single port.

  8. Electronic Commerce • Electronic • Connect Direct™ (NDM) • Connect Direct™ is a Sterling Commerce software product that Providers can purchase to use with a dedicated connection to Verizon. Service Providers will install a dedicated SNA (System Network Architecture) or TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) connection to Verizon. When using Connect Direct, Service Providers must provide the CSU/DSU (Channel Service Unit/Data Service Unit).

  9. Electronic Commerce • Electronic • Interactive Agent • Interactive Agent is a transport that can either be used with a dial up* or dedicated TCP/IP connection. Interactive Agent will return responses to the client without generating an additional “query” or “get” transaction. The use of this transport requires a digital certificate on both the client and server machines. In addition, IA opens an SSL3 session that combined with the certificate allow for a secure data transmission.
