Renowned European-Style Hotel Retrofitted By Nu Flow Nu Flow successfully completed a pipe-retrofitting project at the Homestead Hotel without the need to destroy the historic landmark. The pipe system was rehabilitated with the patented Nu Flow process by pulling a seamless structural liner into place, avoiding costly and disruptive repairs. Project: Retrofit the sanitary drain stacks located inside the hotel’s walls in less than two weeks time, with minimal occupant displacement. Customer: The Homestead Condominium Association, New Jersey, the association for the five-story complex. Site: The Homestead Hotel, Ocean City, New Jersey, was established in 1928 and recently renovated into a European- style condominium hotel. The hotel is located less than a block from the beach and boardwalk along the Atlantic Ocean. System: Twelve sanitary drain stacks composed of 4” cast iron pipe. The stacks are located in the hotel’s aged plaster and concrete walls. Situation: Corrosion in the five-story building’s sanitary stacks caused failure and leaks in the hotel restaurant and on the first floor. Solution: Nu Flow saved the customer from the cost and logistics of replacing all twelve sanitary drain stacks, which would have caused extensive damage to the historic landmark. With the system dry, Nu Flow removed all buildup and corrosion, returning the pipes back to their original diameter. The pipes were retrofitted with the patented Nu Flow process by pulling a seamless structural liner into place, greatly extending the pipes useful life.
