Some Tips to prepare for health screening Make sure to get enough sleep. Lack of sleep may result in wrong results. Eat light food the night before the test and ensure at least a gap of eight hours.   2. Alcohol, alcoholic and caffeinated beverages should be avoided for at least one day. Drinking water to avoid dehydration. Wearing loose clothing is helpful during health screenings especially for coronary artery disease which involves treadmill tests. For existing conditions, inform the lab technicians and bring the latest reports. Check if you can take any medicines on the test day. Some tests need special care to be taken. Check with the lab about any specific requirements before going for the test. Don’t take tests immediately after heavy physical activity or workout. For Women: For mammograms, avoid applying anything under arms or over breasts. Avoid tests within the week right after the menstrual period. Inform about pregnancy to the lab technician in advance. Schedule an annual check-up early in the morning so that you arrive after a night’s sleep and fasting.
