Constructive eviction

At Outerbridge Law P.C., we help tenants understand and protect their legal rights when landlords fail to maintain habitable living conditions. Constructive eviction occurs when a landlordu2019s actions or failure to act make a rental property so uninhabitable that the tenant is effectively forced to leave. This could involve issues like no heat in winter, persistent leaks, mold, or dangerous building code violations. Importantly, for a constructive eviction claim to succeed, the tenant must vacate the premises and prove the conditions were severe enough to justify breaking the lease.
