  2. Introduction • The Howler monkey is interesting to learn about. They are 2 feet + 30” tall. They are 15 Lbs. The adult males are black and brown. The females and the young are lighter in color . The Howler Monkey is a fascinating animal of the rainforest.

  3. Animals Living Habits • They are vegetarians. • They feed on flowers fruits and leaves. • Life span 20 years. • LARGEST new world monkey. • 4 or 8 members in a troop. • Each troop has it’s own territory in which it lives and feeds.

  4. Habitat • Lowland forest. • Size of Territory depends on the size of the troop, ranging from 3 to 25 animals. • They defend their territory from other troops. • They live in Southern brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia.

  5. Interesting Facts • It’s the loudest monkey of land animals. • It can be heard up to 3 miles 4.8 KM away. • It’s nickname is Baboon.

  7. Introduction • The Scarlet Macaw is a great animal to study. It is about 35 inches long. It has bright red feathers with bits of yellow, and blue. It’s beak is very curved. That’s why the Scarlet Macaw is a great animal to study.

  12. Introduction The Morpho Butterfly is one of the most amazing insects! The Morpho butterfly is a species of neotropical butterflies. Under its wing, it has bronze colored eyespots . The caterpillar has red-brown and bright green lines on the back . The female is not as colorful as males . That is why it is one of the most amazing insects .

  17. Introduction The poison arrow frog is one of the most amazing rainforest animals. The poison arrow frog doesn’t hibernate or migrate. They are very small, almost 1\2 inch in length. They can be green or blue with black patches. I like learning about the poison arrow frog.

  18. Living Habits • They eat ants, termites, flies, small beetles, spiders etc. • Like all amphibians, frogs spend their lives near water.

  19. Animal Habitat • Lives in tropical rainforests of South and Central America. • It likes to stay on the floor of the rainforest in moist and shady places. • It can’t be eaten by other animals but it can eat almost any insects.

Interesting Facts • Their bright color serves as a warning to other animals that they are poisonous. • Some native Indians used the poison for their weapons. • The poison affects the nerves and muscles when it enters the blood stream. • Some carry their tadpoles to pools to protect them from danger.

  32. Introduction The Giant Anteater is one of the most amazing animals of the rainforest. It’s coat is brown with a large black and white stripe on Shoulder. It has small ears and eye’s. It has a long snout and a large bushy tail. I think the Anteater is one of the most interesting animals to learn about.

  33. Living Habits • Sometime it eats up to 30,000 insects in a single day. • Predators are pumas and jaguars

  34. Habitat • It can be found in Central America and part of S. America • Most are found in tropical forests, grassland and highland where there are a lot of ants. • Are found in the Forest Floor of the rainforest.

  47. Introduction I’m learning about the Plain Xenop. It is a small bird that is 5 in.(12.5 cm) long. Unlike other types of Xenops, it’s back is deep brown and unstreaked. The wing and tail feathers are mostly cinnamon-colored. That is some things I just learned about!
