  1. Dispelling Myths About Your Breast Cancer Support Group Breast cancer is an intense battle that needs a support system to fight effectively. A support system can look different from person to person and may include family members, friends, coworkers, and healthcare providers. However, being in a community with other women who understand what you're going through can make all the difference. A breast cancer support group provides women with a community of other breast cancer survivors, allowing them to feel heard and understood. There are many myths about support groups that keep women from joining, but they can be easily dispelled. Common Myths About Cancer Support Groups Oklahoma City I Will Feel Worse Afterwards Hearing about others' struggles and successes with breast cancer can offer breast cancer emotional support. Seeing how other women overcame the challenges associated with breast cancer can help increase tolerance of your struggles, provide hope, and grow your sense of connection.
