BASIC CHEMICALS - ACIDS Acetic acid Acetic acid is the second simplest carboxylic acid and is an important chemical reagent, mainly used in the production of cellulose acetate for photographic film and polyvinyl acetate for wood glue, as well as synthetic fibers and fabrics. Formic acid Formic acid is a colorless liquid having a highly pungent, penetrating odor at room temperature. Formic acid is very frequently used in food products as a preservative or on crops as a pesticide. It is in the production of leather, textiles and leather. Citric acid Citric acid is a natural preservative which occurs naturally in citrus fruits and is also used to add an acidic or sour taste to foods and drinks. It is widely used as a chelating agent, binding metals and used to remove scale from boilers and evaporators.

N-Butanol N-Butanolis produced industrially from the petrochemical feedstock propylene. It is used in the manufacture of antibiotics, hormones, and vitamins. It is a solvent for paints, coatings, natural resins, gums, synthetic resins, dyes, alkaloids, and camphor. IsoPropyl Alcohol (IPA) Isopropyl alcohol is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C₃H₈O or C₃H₇OH. It is a colorless, flammable chemical compound with a strong odor.

5. CHLORINATED SOLVENTS Methylene dichloride (MDC) Methylenedichloride (MDC) is a colorless, volatile liquid with a moderately sweet aroma. It widely used in the food industry and pharma industry. It has been used to decaffeinate coffee and tea. It is also used as an aerosol spray propellant and as a blowing agent. Trichloroethylene Trichloroethylene is used in metal degreasing, as an extraction solvent for oils, fats and waxes, solvent drying, dry cleaning as a refrigerant and heat exchange liquid. In organic synthesis it is used as a fumigant, medicine and in cleaning and drying of electronic parts. Epichlorohydrin Epichlorohydrinis a colorless liquid with a pungent, garlic-like odor, moderately soluble in water. It is used in production of epoxy resin. It is also used in paper industry, water treatment resins and elastomers.

Butyl acetate Butyl acetate is a colorless flammable liquid. It is used as a synthetic fruit flavoring in foods such as candy, ice cream, cheeses, and baked goods. Methyl format Methyl formate is a colorless liquid with an unpleasant odor, high vapor pressure, and low surface tension. It is used in the pharmaceutical industry as a blowing agent for foam insulation, as a replacement for CFC, HCFC, or HFCs, with zero ozone depletion potential.

KETONES Acetone Acetone is used in formulations of surface coatings and related washes and thinners, mainly for acrylic and nitrocellulose lacquers and paints.  Also used as raw material for the production of diacetone alcohol, MIBK and mesityl oxide. Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) Methyl Ethyl Ketone is a highly versatile petrochemical solvent for lacquer.  It also finds use in the manufacture of plastics, textiles, paraffin wax, and in household products such as lacquer, varnishes, paint remover. Methyl Isobutyl Ketone (MIBK) Methyl Isobutyl Ketone is used as a solvent for inks, coatings, adhesives and nitro cellulose. Methyl Isobutyl Ketone is also used as an extraction agent in the dewaxing / deoiling of petroleum products and in pharmaceuticals.
