  1. 10 easy and effective procedures to remove stains from a chiffon saree!

  2. Chiffon is undoubtedly one of the most sheer and tightly woven fabric. It can be made from nylon, polyester, rayon or silk and dyed in any variety of colors. There are various clothing products that are made from chiffon, like shirts, scarfs, skirts, dresses and of course, sarees. Chiffon is one of the most comfortable attires for Indian women and one of the most preferred ones when it comes to traditional attires.

  3. Chiffon sarees have their own reasons to be loved. They are not just comfortable, but come with the maximum variety of designs and color variants. But because they are worn daily, they have the highest chances of getting stains. If you too have been a part of such incidents, wherein accidently you spoil the look of your sarees and freak out, we have a solution. An effective and easy way to remove stains from a chiffon saree.

  4. Here’s what you’ll need: gentle detergent for fabrics, water, clean white cloth, hydrogen peroxide, dry cleaning solvent, colorfast bleach, talc, ice, pretreatment stain remover, and just need to follow the following procedures:

  5. Step 1: Clean an area of the fabric that is not visible before treating the stain. Step 2: It would be great if the stain type could be identified as it will help determine which water temperature to use during cleaning. But if you do not know the stain type, it is recommended to stick to warm or cool temperatures.

  6. Step 3: Do not forget to follow the care instructions provided on the garment. Step 4: Keep the face of the fabric down, and place it on the piece of absorbent fabric, face side down. The bulk of the stain gets absorbed to the back.

  7. Step 5: Now take the talc and sprinkle it over the stain. The talc will help release the oil, if any. After sprinkling, blow away the excess. Step 6: If there are wax or gum stains, you can first apply ice on them to harden them.

  8. Step 7: With a clean white cloth, apply water on the stain and start removing the stain from center to outwards. This is best way to remove the maximum stain. Step 8: Next, take detergent and apply a drop if they are protein-based stains such as blood and perspiration. Now soak the stain for almost 30 minutes in the room-temperature water and rinse.

  9. Step 9: Apply a drop of colorfast bleach and repeat the process by soaking the stain area in water (cool) for around 30 minutes and rinse later. Step 10: Apply dry cleaning solvent to the stain and do as is directed in the instructions with the product. The stains are gone!
