  1. What is CBD? Cannabidiol is also known as CBD in short which is a chemical compound from the Cannabinoid family, which grows naturally in the cannabis/hemp plant. This naturally occurring substance is used in the pain oils to impart the feeling of relaxation calming, & soothing effects and it’s also even used in edibles to increase their shelf life. Unlike Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), it’s not psychoactive in nature. According to Scientists there are total 108 different types of cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant and among these- Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is probably the best-known thanks to its psychoactive properties -- it's the one that gets you "high" -- but CBD is quickly gaining ground due to its potential therapeutic benefits. Does CBD make you High? As already discussed before that CBD does not come from marijuana, it originates from the cannabis/hemp plant. Although, Hemp and marijuana are close relatives but are not the same, as hemp contain not more than 0.3% of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), psychoactive compound which is found in higher concentrations in marijuana. This is the reason which makes CBD less psychoactive in nature, means that it does not produce a "high" or change a person's state of mind, but it influences/activates the body to use its own endocannabinoids more effectively.

Health Benefits offered by CBD - The best quality of CBD oil is produced form the whole extract of the hemp plant with a full spectrum cannabinoid content along with other cannabinoids and beneficial plant compounds like- terpenes, and flavonoids. Being produces from the whole plant extract maximizes the health benefits. For example, CBD stops the body from absorbing anandamide, a compound associated with regulating pain. So, increased levels of anandamide in the bloodstream may reduce the amount of pain a person feels. CBD, inhibits the absorption of anandamide (a compound for regulating the pain) by the body which results into an increased level of anadamide in the blood which lessens the amount of pain, a person feels. Cannabidiol also reduces the inflammation in the brain and nervous system, which helps the people suffering from acute pain, insomnia, and certain immune-system responses. How does CBD Work? CBD (and THC) functions by interacting with our body's endocannabinoid system, a regulatory system made up of naturally occurring cannabis-like molecules. These endocannabinoids, as they're called, work like neurotransmitters by transmitting the messages through the body to maintain homeostasis. Cannabinoids like CBD and THC interact with the endocannabinoid system at two known receptors: CB1 and CB2. Although, CB1 receptors are present throughout the entire body, but mainly are in the brain- where they deal with coordination and movement, cognition, memory, emotions, mood, thinking, appetite, memories, and other functions pain and other functions present in the nervous system, liver, thyroid, uterus, and more. THC attaches itself to these receptors, inhibiting the release of neurotransmitters and possibly increasing the release of others, altering to normal functioning.

  3. CB2 receptors -- which are mainly found in the immune and gastrointestinal systems, as well as the brain and nervous system. They affect inflammation and pain. Researchers once believed that CBD attached to these CB2 receptors, but it now appears that CBD does not attach directly to either receptor. Instead, it encourages the body to produce more of its own endocannabinoids, which may help reduce anxiety, pain and inflammation.
