  2. Online Clinical & Coaching Psychologist Practical strategies that work. This is my approach to helping people conquer psychological challenges in their lives. I combine tangible skill development with a down-to-earth, jargon-free approach to my work with clients. I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2004 after completing several years of undergraduate and postgraduate education/training. After initially working in adult mental health, I began private practice work in 2009 alongside other clinical and academic roles (see my publications here). I have helped a wide range of people to successfully tackle psychological challenges and improve their quality of life. The issues I tackle with clients range from tackling the imposter syndrome and addressing public speaking anxiety, to resolving cognitive difficulties (e.g., mind-blanking) and unhelpful managerial/leadership behaviours (e.g., a reluctance to delegate). Many of my coaching clients work in high-profile companies such as Google, NatWest, Nike, and HSBC

  3. CBT Therapist Near Me: Cognitive Behavioural Essentials Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a popular and effective talking therapy for many psychological problems. I use CBT in my clinical and coaching work. This article will help you understand key elements of this approach to psychological difficulties. What Is CBT? CBT emerged from earlier forms of psychological treatments developed through the 20th century (e.g., Behavioural therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy). CBT emphasises the role of thinking in emotional responses to events. In other words, thoughts are the link between situations and our responses. Losing a job and thinking ‘Great, I hated that job’ is going to produce a very different response to ‘This is the worst thing that could ever happen to me’. We also consider the relationships between thoughts, behaviours, emotions, and the physical body (physiological reactions) in CBT. We assume that altering one of these elements can have an impact on others.

  4. CBT For Depression Low mood and anxiety are difficulties often addressed through CBT. Applying CBT to low mood, CBT For Anxiety What To Expect In Sessions The process of CBT first involves understand why and how a person's difficulties have occurred. This stage is known as assessment and formulation. CBT sessions then involve an intervention that targets underlying problem causes. Strategies used in CBT relate to the four aspects represented in the above diagram. For example, unhelpful thinking patterns are identified through the use of thought diaries, then addressed through various ‘thought challenging’ techniques. Clients are often asked to change behaviours in some way to address issues such as avoidance and counterproductive ‘safety behaviours’. CBT is generally a short-term intervention. But the number of sessions completed for a given issue can vary greatly (6-12 appointments is typical).
