  2. Archives • Use past issues of The Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News for student research. • Rocky Mountain News archives April, 2004 through March, 2009 • The Denver Post archives April, 2004 through the present

  3. To access the archives, go to www.DenverPostEducation.curriculum Click on the *Curriculum Downloads link and enter the user name and password (sent to all classroom eEdition subscribers)

  4. *Curriculum Downloads Click on the link to the Denver Post or Rocky Mountain News Archive. There is also a link to a 2-page tip sheet on using the archive.

  5. Click on Archives

  6. Use Select Archiveto look at a specific issue of the newspaper by date

  7. Search Archive for specific words Search the entire archive or specify a date range

  8. Sort search results The most useful are score, date ascending or date descending.

  9. Search Results Here are search results for “hurricane.” Click on the headline or on the article link to open the article in a separate window.

  10. Article Window • The search term “hurricane’ is highlighted in the article. • You can: • Read the article on the screen • Print the article • Send(email) a link to the article to yourself or someone else • Note: My Collection adds a cookie to your computer and only works for that computer.

  11. Search Results Click on the Page link to read the article in the original newspaper page.

  12. Article in newspaper page The article is highlighted on the page. Seeing other news articles provides context for events.
