  2. Natural Tears • Expected, not a show of weakness • Death of loved ones: • Dorcas: Acts 9:39 • Absalom: 2 Sam. 15:30, 18:32-33 • Death of ourselves: • Hezekiah: 2 Kings 20:5 • Jesus: Heb. 5:7

  3. Hebrews 5:7 7 Who in thedays of his flesh, when he hadoffered up prayers and supplications withstrongcryingandtears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;

Tears of Sympathy • No personal connection to the departed • Jn. 11:35 (Was Jesus weeping for Lazarus?) • Degree of joy (resurrection above recovery) • Degree of faith • Rom 12:15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. • 1 Cor 12:26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

  6. Hopeless Tears • Christians crying for the lost • 1 Thes. 4:13 • Luke 16:27-31 (five brethren’s view?) • Reversal of faith to deal with grief • Safe (Child not yet accountable) • Saved (Christian) • Lost (Never obeyed or fell away)

Revelation 21:4 • And God shall wipe away all tearsfrom their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any morepain: for the former things are passed away. • Wiping away all tears: • No Death • No Disappointment (sorrow) • No Discouragement (pain)
