  7. Technical Requirements

  8. Technical Steps for GhostScript 1)       Install GhostScript onto Application Server (can be downloaded from sourceforge.net).  Note the installation directory. 2)      Define system-wide environment variable called “ghost_home” as the GhostScript directory.  For example, ghost_home=C:\PROGRA~1\gs\gs8.64  It is important that your environment variable not have any spaces in it, thus Program Files becomes PROGRA~1. 3)      In the PS_HOME for the application server you will find a scripts directory.  In it you will find psps2pdf.cmd which by default should be setup for Adobe distiller.  You will also see psps2pdf_distiller.cmd and psps2pdf_ghost.cmd which are the scripts to use for Adobe Distiller and GhostScript respectively. 4)      Delete psps2pdf.cmd 5)      Make a copy of psps2pdf_ghost.cmd in the same scripts directory and then rename it to psps2pdf.cmd 6)      Stop and restart the application server. 8

  9. How to Upload Logo Uploading Form Image Text: To modify an image that is being rendered on a page, you must create a new or modified form image text file in encapsulated PostScript (EPS) format and upload it to an FTP site you choose. You can then run the process to upload this text into the Form Image Text repository. Access the Upload EPS Image File page.Uploading Form Image Text Follow these steps to upload form image text. 1. Create a run control record. The URL is the name of the FTP domain to which you had previously uploaded the EPS file. If you uploaded it to the FTP server called MYFTPSITE, then you would enter MYFTPSITE into this field. 2. Enter the ID and password that you used to log on to the FTP site. 3. Retype the password in the Confirm Password field. The unique system filename should be a filename in 8.3-format without any blank spaces. Note. Do not enter path information. For example, MYLOGO.EPS is used for the MYLOGO form image text file. The remote file name is the path and name of the file that you specified when you uploaded it to your FTP site. The form image name is the name that PeopleSoft uses as the key to the Form Image Text repository. Our example is MYLOGO. 4. Submit the process. 5. Navigate to the Form Image Text page after the process completes successfully. Enter a description for the image and select the Cache Form On Printer check box.

  10. Testing Ghostscript 1) Navigate to: 2)      Click Search 3)      Bring up any form editor page 4)      Click the preview link 5)      A PDF representation should pop-up Setup SACR -> Common Definitions -> Forms Engine -> Setup -> Form Editor If there is still an error, check in the Peoplesoft Application server’s stderr file for details ($PS_HOME/appserv/DOMAIN/stderr). 10
