  2. OVERVIEW Breast reduction surgery is called mammoplasty. In this surgery the doctor removes some of the tissues and skin from the breasts to reshape and reduce the size. By this surgery the doctor can make the dark area smaller around the nipple.

Gauze is placed over the incisions, and the breasts are wrapped in an elastic bandage or supported with a special surgical bra.
