  1. Things to Consider Before Buying any Tennis Racquet Are you in need of new tennis racquet but not sure which one will fit you the best? Have a look at the features and my recommendation for getting best tennis racquets in this presentation. Presentation is for you: • You are searching for new racket but getting confuse while choosing it? • You want to change racquet’s specification but in dilemma? • You have a racket in your mind but want to explore its models?

  2. How to Get Perfect Tennis Racquet? (First Glance) Buying a tennis racket is a difficult and tricky decision especially if you are new comer or you play it in moon light. Practically when you are at the stage of buying a racquet, simple thing needs to be keep in mind is its “weight”, “Balance”, “Head Size” and “String”.] Heaviest racket you can handle, type of tennis you play and time taken on court. That’s it you don’t have to use the racket used by Nadal or any other player, just choose the racquet according to your playing level.

  3. What Weight is Ideal for Tennis Racquets? Weight is the foremost factor while buying a tennis racket. Heavier the tennis racket, more power it will have. To clarify this, take two tennis rackets, one can be of HEAD Speed Lite Tennis racquet which is 265 gm and other one is of Wilson Pro Staff Tennis racket which is 315 gm. Now swing those at 150mph, Wilson Tennis racket will hit the ball harder as that of Head tennis racket. If you are strong enough you will be able to swing both rackets at the same speed. However, majority of the people will be able to swing 265 gm faster as compare to 315 gm but the power generate with 315gm will still be more. As a result, the magic lies in finding the right balance between your swing speed and racquet weight.

  4. What is Best Balance for Racquets? Balance of racquets is totally dependent on how the weight is mainly distributed from the center. Balance is mainly responsible for the “swing weight”. You must have observed few terms such as head- light and head-heavy while going through production reviews on various websites or online e-retailer sites. Practically, head-heavy seems very good and ideal light racquet but if we go through in detail, we will see weight in head will put some extra torque to our elbow, shoulder and wrist during the swing. This extra torque means you are more prone to elbow injury and other serious injuries. So if you are beginner I would suggest that you should go with head-light frame and develop your stroke ability with a regular practice. Later on, you can switch on to heavier one.

  5. What Should be the Stiffness of Perfect Tennis Racquets? Perfect stiffness generally provides better comfort and power. A stiffer racquet will be ideal for providing more power. Softer frame of the racket will absorb more energy from the ball and this will take power away from the shot. Stiffer rackets will tend to bend less and more power can be thrown on ball. You must be getting confused after reading this, just make it simple. When ball hits a racket, it vibrates on the strings. On the stiffer frames, vibrations tend to go harsher but slowly whereas when comparing these with softer frames, they are served less but last very longer. Which String Pattern is Ideal? The string pattern is generally related to number cross pattern and strings available on the rackets. For example, take 16*19 or 18*20 racket’s string. 18*20 are higher density pattern, it will be stiffer so it will deflect very less on hitting the ball. Whereas as we compare to less density pattern such of 16*19 that is less stiff one. You will get less variation when hitting the ball.

  6. What Head Size Should You Choose? Just like stiffness, head size is another tricky area; totally depend on the individual preference. If you lack here, this can affect your game. In simple words if you are playing with large racket, this will generate more power as compare to smaller one. On the contrary this is negligible. For example, if we take 98sq. cm is more powerful as compared to 95sq. cm while their features are almost same. Technically it can be harder to play with larger rackets. Though it has large head size thus provides increased rotational stability. Further if we see the centre of string, weight is distributed so you need more power to twist it. In addition to above, when you intend to hit racket in the off-centre there will be miss-hits and commonly known as forgiving in tennis game. For most players my recommendation is head size that can vary from 98 to 100 sq inches. Wrapping up, we have discussed features and specification with my recommendation but it’s just my personal view, it can vary according to your experience and play level.
