Many diseases are spreading at a very fast rate due to insects and mosquitoes. Some of these diseases can even lead to fetal death. These insects, rodents and mosquitoes must be controlled.

  2. Introduction • There are about 3000 species of mosquitoes. • Out of which 100 are vectors of human diseases. • Mosquitoes account for most of the infectious diseases

  3. Diseases caused by mosquitoes • Zikavirus • It is caused by Aedes aegypti mosquio. • There is no vaccine, treatment or cure for the virus. • Pregnant womans are worned against travel to countries where Zika is there. • The virus causes severe birth defects • Babies which are infected by Zika might have eye defects, hearing loss and impaired growth. • The only way to prevent from zika is to staw away from mosquito bites.

Diseases caused by mosquitoes • Dengue • It is transmitted by the from Aedes aegypti mosquito. • Only femele mosquito transmits the dengue virus. • Mosquito is a daytime biter, inside or outside the home . • Mosquitoes are most active in the hours after sunrise and before sunset. • The Aedes aegypti mosquitoes mostly breed in the containers holding water. • Diagnosis of the dengue fever is made by clinical presentation and blood test

Diseases caused by mosquitoes • Malaria • It is transmitted by female Anopheles mosquito. • The mosquito bite introduces parasites from the mosquitoes saliva into humans blood. • Malaria causes symptoms that typically include fever, fatigue etc. • The disease is wdespread in troopical and subtropical reagions. • The risk of disease can be reduced by preventing mosquito bites by using mosquito nets, insect repellent or by hiring mosquto controllers.

Diseases caused by mosquitoes • Chikungunya • This virus is passed to humans by two species of mosquitoes i.e aedes and aegypti. • The disease features sudden onset of fever two to four days afer exposure. • The incubation period for chikungunya virus ranges from 1 to 12 days. • Following the fever, strong joint pain and stiffness occurs. • The best means of prevention is overall mosquito control.

Preventive measures mosquitoe borne diseases • Prevent mosquitoes from entering your home. • Mosquitoes lay their egges in still water, therefore reduce mosquito breeding places in your yard. • Clean rain gutter, pooled water, remoev unused tires etc. • Consider wearing long sleeves clothes, apply a thin coat of mosquito repellent when you are out of home. • Do mosquito control once in residential and commercial areas.
