  2. IntroducciónSlide One • 1. Hola, me llamo/yo soySr. Villanueva. Yoestoy en el gradonueve y asisto la escuela Da Vinci Design. Hoy voy a presentarsobre la clase de español.   4. Slide Three • Este semestreyoaprendícomodecir el alfabeto(how to say the alphabet). This semester I learned how to say the alphabet. I learned there are four unique letters which are: ch, ll, ñ, and the rr. I will now say the alphabet.. • Este semestreyotambiénaprendícomocontar hasta treinta(how to count to 30).   6. AbilidadesEsenciales (essential skills) 2a. Of the four big content pieces we went over with Mr. V, the three I will go over are: *Cognates *Verb Conjugationand *Díade los Muertos

  7. Cognates Cognates are words in English & Spanish that are spelled the same way and mean the same thing. They are important to know because they help us read and understand a new language. 10 examples are: -color –hospital –univision–lateral –balance –casual -animal –digital –final –idal 1.   8. *If you choose Verb Conjugation, you will: a) explain what the process is b) why it’s important to know c) complete a conjugation table for any THREE verbs of your choice. For example – DibujAR(to draw) = Yodibuj-oNosotrosdibuj-amos Túdibuj-as Él/elladibuj-aEllos/ellasdibuj-an ustedustedes

  9. Conjugation • A) Conjugation means changing verbs to fit the nouns and adjective they are paired with. B) The process involves cutting the last two letters of a verb and adding the appropriate ending. C) Conjugation is important to know because they help us understand and write in Spanish. • The three verbs I will create a conjugation table for (FIVE verbs for natives) are: Dibujar, Comer, Hablar

  10. *If you choose Gustar/No me gusta, you will: a) conjugate this irregular verb b) use it in FIVE sentences in Spanish where you say what you like OR what you don’t like. For example –

  13. If you choose Día de los Muertos, you will: • state the history and importance of the tradition, including the origins, facts and altar requirements • explain your personal altar and how it symbolized the person you chose to honor.

  14. ReflexiónSobreClase de Español(new slide) 3. Las áreasacadémicasdóndenecesitomejorar mi aprendizaje del español son (the areas in which I need to improve in Spanish are… 3-4 sentences). I need to improve on conjugation because I got a 2 on the quiz. I need to improve on pronouncing words because I still have trouble saying certain words. I also need to improve my note taking skills because I got a 3 on my last notebook check.

I feel I am ready to move on to next semester because I have a B- in class and I am improving all the time. I also feel I should move on to next semester because I did really well on my Día de los Muertos altar (picture on next slide).

  17. El Alfabeto y los numeros • Here you will say the entire alphabet in Spanish, including the four unique letters (ch, ll, ñ, rr) • You will also count up to 30 in Spanish with the correct pronunciation.

  18. Días de la semana y los meses • Here you will recite the days of the week and the months of the year in Spanish with correct pronunciation.
