  1. The Secret Truth On How The Top 1% Achieve Their Goals Today I felt inspired to write a small passage based on a vibrant consultation I held with one of my inner circle clients. My client Greg was having some real difficulties around goal setting. This is normally the first exercise I perform with my one-on-one clients to assist them in achieving financial independance. I asked Greg what he really wanted in life. I asked him what he would want 6 months from now and 12 months from now if there was no way he could fail in anything he did? He remained silent. He really struggled... He could not be specific. This is not unusual. In fact it is the same story with almost every client i have ever met. Ask yourself this same question. What do you really want? I am guessing it is something like - "I am planning to do this job or this business for another X years... and then do what i want" Somewhere between 7 years old and finishing University, a chorus enters your internal dialogue. " I need to get realistic and stop dreaming. Let's aim for 'Y' job or start 'Z' Business. I should be able to make $X after 40 years and then have my time to relax and reflect. Interesting... Well, you can go outside today and can see whom has successfully gone through this cycle. They are the 45+ year old employees or entrepreneurs driving either a white or silver BMW. The problem in life is that we are not specific enough in our goals. Listen Up. I am now going to give you a SECRET known by only the most astute, powerful and successful people. There is a million books out there preaching the same tune. Draw yourself up a board and place your goals on one side and gratitude on the other. Have a gratitude rock... blah blah If you have done this, go there now and have a look at it.

  2. What does it make you feel when you look at that board and see your goals? Happy? Yes. This is what the majority of us would say. Now here is the problem. We all can feel 'happy' by eating a nice dinner at a restaurant! The word Happy is one of the most overrused words in language and as a direct result has become ambiguous through frequency of use. We need to use a more precise alternative if we truly want to guarantee true success in your life. What is the opposite of Happiness? Sadness? No it isn't. Love is the highest form of state in life and the opposite to love is 'Indifference'. AND.. The Opposite of Happiness is..... Boredom. Is this starting to turn on some lights for you? So.. Excitement is the more practical synonym for Happiness and this is precisely what you should strive for when you set your personal goals. This is the sweet spot and this is core driver that makes us achieve great things. It is what got man to the moon and brought the impossible to achievable. When you are told by someone close or a guru to follow your passion, what i think they really mean is for you to strive in life at what excites you most. The goal which gives you purpose and makes you jump straight out of bed wide eyed and ready to go. So the question should be in life. What would excite me? And thus starts the process which i went through with Greg. To correct his course from acquiring his white BMW and spending the majority of his life in boredom. To set some real Goals. To THINK BIG. To set real goals he had shut off in his mind as being unachievable. Then... 1. To Shift Goals From Being Ambiguous Wants To Defined Steps Example: Perhaps Greg wanted to feel like a Superstar and own a 350k ferrari. He never thought it

  3. would ever be achievable and thus blocked it out. In reality he could set himself an attractive payment plan and possibly secure it for $2500 per month. He currently runs a tech business and securing business with an additional client would be worth $2780.00 per month to him. Certainly achievable. 2. The Goals Have To Be Unnrealistic To Be Effective I will argue that it is easier to go from $1 million to $10 million in business than go from $1 to $100,000. People strive for mediocrity because most think they are incapable of achieving great things. Thus they lack drive and there is far more competition in lower space. Aim high. Evoke Excitement and drive and you will have fuel to break through any barriers. 3. Focus On Goals Which Will Continue To Evoke Your Passion When Requirement Of Work Is Removed. To Truly Be Successful, you must always have access to doing exciting and interesting things, not just OWN Enviable things. And this is where i will lay this topic to rest for now. However, I do wish to remind you that I do offer personalised consultations included to my growth and Virtual CFO clients.
