  2. 5G: A Marketing Trend for 2020 Every generation of cellular technology we call 1G, 2G, 3G has brought great advances that only existed years ago in our imaginations. Many of us can remember the first generation of mobile phones — they were massive, clunky, and expensive, but they gave us a degree of communication we never had before. Today, we have smart phones that, in our lives, have replaced so many devices. Similarly, cellular technology has progressed from 1G to 5G. We have seen the rise of smart phones , social media, and video and audio sharing since the evolution of wireless technology via 4G (also known as LTE). Cellular networks of the fifth generation-5G have now become a reality following years of expectation and a large amount of speculation. The first appearance of the 5G (fifth-generation wireless) network was in April 2019. This new cellular technology, the 4G network, is about 10 times quicker than its predecessor. It’s time to get ready for 5G marketing! The reasons?

Greater Speed • The ability to easily transmit more data comes with a higher speed of around 10 gigabytes per second, 100 times faster than 4G. • Faster connexions would encourage more people to get online from anywhere, and more people online would mean business growth. • We would be able to interact with more people than we have ever learned before, as 5 G helps us to communicate and process data faster. Reduced Latency • 5G is expected to enhance wireless networking with its lower latency by bringing fibre-like speeds and extremely low latency capabilities to almost any region. • It'll also allow us to communicate with our customers in real time. • In a remote place, imagine having a live video chat with your client without any time lag.

Connectability at once to more devices • 5G is a tool that empowers the Internet of Things ( IoT) to live up to its long-promised potential. • Augmented Reality (AR ) and Virtual Reality (VR) becomes more important as marketing and sales teams adapt customer experience to their needs. • IoT allows us on an ongoing basis to know what our clients want. It will allow us to listen to and respond to the needs and expectations of our clients based on their behaviour. Effect on Marketing of 5G • Now is the time to look at how 5 G can impact marketing and how marketers can prepare to gain benefits from 5 G technology with only a few years left before 5 G goes on stage.

Increased Personalized Marketing Use • As the commonly used devices are linked to 5 G, it will generate an immense amount of data. • Therefore, if advertisers have access to high-quality consumer information, it can help them better understand the desires of their clients, opening the door to targeted marketing. • You'll be able to create targeted advertising with advanced location-based marketing to communicate with customers at the right time and place. Augmented reality is going to become more realistic also • Big brand marketers have spent years experimenting with AR and VR. Many have created Snapchat or Instagramphiltres based on AR, while some sponsor product placements in video games based on VR. • In the next few days, we'll see a vehicle dashboard showing advertisements. This will open up a number of opportunities for advertisement.

The video consumption will increase as 5 G decreases the page load time and buffering. • The white paper of Cisco 's visual networking index states that video traffic will account for 82% of all web traffic by 2022. 5 G will have a huge effect on content as consumers will be able to view high-quality videos faster than ever before. As a consequence, advertisers would have to take due care to produce fantastic video content for their 5 G marketing campaign. Interactive Ads Increase • Apart from a large range of digital ads, it could become more interesting to sell content with the high-speed capabilities of 5G. • While advertising that allowed viewers to connect with the material once seemed impractical with buffer time and other technological limitations, 5 G could make this approach more available to marketers.
